Dre Grigoropol is an artist, multimedia creator, and teacher who graduated from Moore College of Art. Her artistic practice encompasses a diverse range of media, including painting, printmaking, cartooning, illustration, digital art, animation, video art, and zines. Dre's visual work reflects her surroundings, nature, and love for animals from the Jersey Shore, Fairmount Park, and the Brandywine Creek of Delco – capturing expressive moments in time. In addition, she draws inspiration from art history, mythology, folklore, storytelling, and pop culture.
Dre is actively involved with print- and zine-focused art groups, including serving as a board member of The Soapbox, a new studio member at Space 1026, and an artist member of The Center of Book Arts. As an event and festival planner, Dre has also organized numerous well-known Philadelphia events, including Riso Expo Philly and Philly Zine Fest. She has facilitated workshops with Mural Arts Print for the People, a live screen-printing makers' station featuring original art at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts Family Day, live printmaking at the Franklin Institute, teaching drawing and painting at the Conshohocken Arts League, and workshops at The Soapbox. Publications include working as editor and book layout for The Soapbox’s risograph magazines and Theresa’s Journal volumes 1 and 2.
